The Buckley Financial Team of The Year Awards   03/12/2010

TEAM OF THE YEAR
Since its inception early in 2007, the Buckley Financial Carbery GAA Team of the Month Scheme has endeavored to reward the GAA team that has proven to have excelled at their particular grade in that particular month. We have been delighted to present our award to some very deserving and rather interesting teams so far.
This year we will again award our Team of the Year award to one of our 12 monthly winners from 2010,however this year we will be inviting members of the public to vote on which team they feel deserves to be crowned Buckley Financial Team of the Year for 2010,
All 12 monthly winners will be listed on the Southern Star over Christmas and members of the public will be invited to vote for their preferred choice.

CARBERY ALLSTARS
This year in a new departure we have decided to name the successful Carbery Senior Football of 1971 as the Buckley Financial Allstar team,
This team who captured the Cork County Senior Football title and brought the Andy Scannell trophy back to West Cork in 1971 will celebrate the 40th anniversary of this massive achievement in 2011 and contains household names such as Declan Barron,Donal Hunt,Teddy Holland to name but a few.

DISTINGUSHED SERVICES TO GAA IN WEST CORK
In conjunction with our awards scheme, we will be recognising an individual who, throughout his or her career has provided Distinguished Service to the GAA in West Cork, and helped in no small way to make the Assosciation what it is today.

HALL OF FAME AWARD
The Buckley Financial ‘’Hall of Fame’’ award will be presented to a true legend of West Cork GAA,and this year we hope to present our award to a very fitting servant of Cork Football.

CLUB OF THE YEAR
The Buckley Financial Club of the Year will be presented to the one club in West Cork that has proven to excel in promoting Gaelic Games both locally and countywide.
Each club in the division will be asked to submit a detailed entry outlining the achievements in 2010 of the club using the following guidelines,

• PARTICIPATION;we will ask all clubs to elaborate on their participation in board competitions and their ability to compete and complete their programme on time.

• ADMINISTRATION;we will invite clubs to examine how they performed their administration duties, wether in communication with other clubs, the divisional board, or any other entities outside.

• FACILITIES; we will encourage clubs to examine their own playing facilities and remark on how suitable they are and what improvements they have made to them in 2010.

• PUBLIC RELATIONS; we will ask clubs to establish what sort of effort they have made in 2010 to establish the GAA as an all-welcoming assosciation and what efforts have been made to promote gaelic games to a wider audience.

The top six enteries will be profiled in the Southern Star and C103FM over Christmas and will also be profiled at our awards function in January.
Members of the public will again be asked to vote on their preference for The Buckley Financial Carbery Club of the Year.
