Carbery Monthly Award Winner March 2019
The Scór competitions celebrated fifty years this year and one of its greatest supporters in Carbery, the St. James Club, celebrated by reaching their first-ever All-Ireland final in Scór. In Scór Sinsear, the St. James Ballad group consisting of Rachel O’Sullivan, Áine Fitzgerald, Rachel Hodnett, Ashlie O’Sullivan, Amy O’Sullivan, won the Carbery title, continued on to win the county final in the Éire Óg hall and then won their way to the Munster final in the Cork city Hall.
With their rendition of “Éist a stór,” and “The Mad Lady and Me,” they won the title. This was St. James first time winning a Munster title since the Junior B hurlers won in 2005. In the All-Ireland final in Castlebar the girls didn’t win the title but gave an outstanding display.
We congratulate Rachel, Áine, Ashlie, Rachel and Amy on their outstanding achievements in 2019 and thank the St. James Club for their continued outstanding support of Scór competitions at all levels. They are worthy winners of the March Carbery Award.
