DEATH OF DENIS MC CARTHY FORMER CARBERY BOARD CHAIRMAN.

The death has taken of Denis (Denny) Mc Carthy Ballygurteen Rossmore after a short illness bravely borne.Denny was a former Cathaoirleach of The Carbery GAA Board and President of Kilmeen and Kilbree GAA Clubs.

Denny served as Chairman of the Carbery Board from 1984 to 1997. Denny was a very  progressive Chairman where he encouraged a lot of Club Developments as regards playing facilities pitches, Dressingrooms in the Carbery Division for the betterment of the players in the Division.

During his Chairmanship Carbery won The Cork Senior County Hurling Chmpionship in 1994 having been defeated in the 1993 County Final.Also a large number of Carbery Clubs won County Titles in that period.

The Carbery Board would like to extend its sincere sympathy to  Monica, Tadgh,Siobhán,Micheál, Una, Ciarán,Gearóid,Sinéid and Donncha.

Denis was beloved husband and best friend of Monica (nee Dineen)loving father of Tadgh,Siobhán (O Regan) Micheál, Una (Scanell) Ciarán, Gearóid,Sinéid and Donncha.

Sadly missed  by his loving family, sisters Sr.Agnes, Annie ( Mc Sweeney) Bridie, Rita (O Donovan) and Eileen (Murray) dauthers -in-law Mairéid,Emer, and Joan, Hannah and Liams mother Anne,sons-in-law Micheál and Tom,Sinéad's partner Wayne, Meabh's father Shane, sixteen grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews,nieces, cousins,relatives,neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his residence on Saturday, October 29th from 4pm followed by removal at 7pm to St.Mary's Church, Rossmore. Funeral Mass on Sunday October 30th at 11.30am followed by burial in the ajoining cemetery.Family flowers only,donations in lieu, if desired, to Mount Carmel Hospital, Clonakilty.
